Pretty in pink

I have NEVER been one for pink, well at least not since I was like 10 years old. However recently I have been eyeing a few items which just so happen to be pink and I'd gladly rock these out, with black everything else of course.

Pretty in pink
*All item links and prices are below*

Biker leather jacket £55 - River Island

'Donut talk to me' t-shirt £16 - River Island
Cropped jumper £25 - H&M

Peep toe platform sandals £55 - River Island

p.s excuse these crazy prices. It's clearly pricey to be in pink

'How I would style' - printed pants

Another segment I would like to add to my blog is this and this is what I am calling 'How I would style'. What I mean by this is that say I find an item of clothing that I love, pick out other items to go alongside my main item (in this cause the printed trousers), I will then share with you wonderful people how I would style it like I have done below. Again like 'style steals' I will be doing these as much as possible alongside all the other things that are going on with this bloggidity blog.

So I went into River island today and fell in love with a pair of printed trousers so I thought I would show you guys how I personally would style them and here you have it. My main goal was to keep all the focus on the trousers as they are a beautiful print, hence why every other item is black. A red lip and a thick cat eye would be perfect with this outfit I think. Enjoy fashion friends.

Perfect pout

I am always one for lipsticks and lip liners, I went through a phase where I was completely obsessed and you wouldn't see me without some sort of colour on my lips. So I wanted to share a few of my favourites with you.

                                      Perfect pout
*All links and prices to the products are below*

1. Rimmel London Kate Moss / Shade 107 (matte) £5 - Superdrugs

This Rimmel London from the Kate Moss range has to be one of my favourite lipsticks of all time. Not only is it matte, just the way I like my lipsticks but it's moisturising which is big plus as no one likes dry lips. It's not that attractive really to be walking around with dry lips. I think the colour would suit any skin tone, it would be beautiful on a paler skin girl I think. After wearing this lipstick nearly every single day its pretty much done but I shall definitely be repurchasing.

2. Collection 2000 Cream Puff / Shade Fairy cake £3 - Superdrugs

This has been a long time favourite of mine, I have actually had it for a good year now. However the only reason I think it has lasted so long is because I lost it a while ago and randomly found it in one of my bags the other week and oh let me tell you I was more than excited. The thing I love most about this cream puff is the moisturising feeling it leaves and the colour of course. It's almost has a 'your lips but better' look too it, well for me anyways. It claims to have a matte finish, which it does indeed and as you guys know matte finishes are my favourite. I really recommend this lip product, its very inexpensive as well.

Girls gone grunge - Style steals #1

*Above picture taken from tumblr. No copyright intended*
 Style steals
*All links to products below*

Lipstick £8 - Topshop
Cropped T-Shirt £5 - River Island
Round sunglasses £12 - Topshop
Black bandanna £1 - Ebay
Grey kimono £22 - Missguided
Studded bracelet £3 - Ebay
Levi high waisted shorts £15 - Ebay

For all wondering what the hell this is basically I decided I have had enough of finding amazing and unique outfits online and not knowing where to buy them or at least similar items. I came across the above image on tumblr the other day which I have named 'girls gone grunge' and I thought WOW, I want an outfit like this, so I went on the hunt and I found a few items that are similar to the outfit. Then I thought why not blog about it and make it a usual segment to my blog, so that's exactly what I'll be doing. I don't know how many of these I'll be doing a week but each time will be a different type of style and my aim is to find the nicest items for an inexpensive price. No £90 pairs of shorts round here, no way. And that's that, you have all witnessed here today the birth of 'STYLE STEALS' by Tamara Martins. Feel free to send in any pictures of an outfit you would like me to recreate with similar clothing items, I'll be happy to go on the hunt once again. But until next time fashion friends...

p.s other than now, usually it will only be the picture of the style and then the items found w/ links. Don't worry you won't have paragraphs of me typing nonsense all the time.

Topshop Interview experience

Topshop interview the stages and my advice (summed up)

Stage one - (Group interview)

  • Introduction - You introduce yourself, so your name and a fact. Don't say what everyone else is saying. Say something interesting and something the interviewers will remember you by.
  • Two truths, one lie game - Again say a lie that's funny possibly, just something people will remember you by. I said I met Justin Bieber four times and that got the staff talking.
  • Strengths, Weaknesses, Opportunities and Threats - You're going onto the shop floor to find different things for each of these words. Don't just focus on the strengths, yes the interviews want to see your positive thoughts on the store but bring good ideas about ways to improve the store in a small way, will look so much better in my opinion.
  • Customer selling - you are in a group to try and sell an outfit so everyone is going to want to seem like the best so make sure you get your ideas out there. That's from picking at least one item and then being able to describe it without getting overpowered by others. The interviewers want to see the way you will interact with customers so it's about persuading the customer to buy the outfit not forcing it upon them and also take the customers style into consideration, not just something you like.
Stage two - (One on one interview)

Now the group interview is done, all it is now is sitting down with one of the staff and they ask you some really basic and easy questions. Nothing too hard. So it will be things like:
  • When will you be available to start?
  • Give me a time you have given good customer service?
  • How would you deal with a situation where your'e busy doing something and a customer is asking for your assistance?
It's really just things like that, I was expecting them to ask me when was Topshop created, who was the founder, questions like that. I even wrote some information down about it, but they didn't ask me anything like that in the end. So yes, that's basically the interview. Make sure to be yourself and show your personality through answering questions and in the group interviews because by the time you get to your one on one they've probably made a judgement by how you interacted with everyone else and within the group tasks. If you want to hear a more detailed version of the day, I have written that below but if not good luck and pray for me I get the job!

The longer detailed version

Topshop interview OOTD

When having to choose what I would prefer to do as part-time job it definitely would be in retail. Just because fashion is the industry I want to get into and where better then to start than retail. Unfortunately having no previous experience it is rather hard to get into working in a retail store especially one of the well known, high street stores like H&M, new look and the amazing Topshop. However I recently applied to be a sales advisor in one of the biggest Topshop stores in London, the Oxford circus branch and too my surprise my application was successful and I have been asked to come into a interview so I thought to help others I would show you all what I am wearing. All outfit information will be below, links will be there if items are available.

February wishlist #1

It's February already and surprisingly I haven't been lusting over hundreds of pieces of clothing and makeup, wanting to take out a crazy loan so I can buy everything. However there are a few things I have had my eye on recently and want to get my hands on as soon as possible. All links to products will be next to each product name :)

1. Stripped penny babydoll dress - Motel Rocks
Now before I describe to you guys how much I want this dress I must say originally, I wanted a similar one from daisystreet but sadly they recently have come out of stock in my size, so I went on the hunt trying to find a similar one and thankfully came across this one from Motel rocks. Now I am not one to usually look on Motel Rocks because lets just say they're not in my unemployed, student budged however this beautiful babydoll dress is currently only £20. It was originally £45 but motel are being awfully kind. Also al the sizes are available so if you like it go grab it quick! The thing I like about this dress is that it's versatile. You could dress this up or down and it's in simple black and white colour so it could go with pretty much everything. I think this will be perfect in the summer with bare legs but also could be great when autumn/winter comes back around, as you can just throw on a bunch of layers and thick tights and you're good to go.

2. Black Timberland boots w/ gold chains -

Daily favourite foundations

So I have always been a foundation girl. I've been wearing foundation since the age of like 11, okay white lie...maybe not 11 more like 14/15 but you get what I'm saying. I've had my fair share of different foundations, including the one and only MAC studio fix fluid. As much as I loved it at the time, I believe there are plenty of drug store foundations that are just as good if not better. So here I have two drug store foundations that I use daily and thought I would review for you all.

Lo'real true match foundation - shade N7 Ambre

Now this foundation to me is the definition of perfect for my skin. I am one of those annoying people that don't leave their spots alone and have ended up with horrible sport scarring on my face which I am so embarrassed about however this foundation covers it perfectly and I don't even have to use a concealer beforehand. I am not sure what is the set coverage for this foundation, however I have been using it for about two months now and it can go from sheer-full coverage..

BB Live - style/music influences

So I was recently nosing around on twitter as you do and I came across a twitter account dedicated to getting internships/apprenticeships for people through their website. I have been constantly keeping my eye on this account as fashion is something I am extremely interested in as we all know, well should considering my blog is partly dedicated to the fashion industry. Anyway they recently posted a opportunity with a upcoming entertainment channel BassBuds live or just BB Live. They are holding a competition for music artists, photographers, designers and bloggers to get the opportunity to do something with them, each prize is different for each category and there will be one winner for each. As a blogger/writer the prize for one lucky person would be granted backstage access to filming of a live episode. Also you'll get to promote your work on a more established level. Anyway enough of my blabbing, if you want more detailed information on the competition and the rules head over to their twitter here

So my personal style has never been something I could easily explain. I say this because, I could be in all black looking like a Goth one day and the next in the most girlie outfit you could ever lay your eyes on. But as for my influences, I have always been one for the more quirky, retro look...
