Hey guys I am back with a post for you all. Today's topic is
the subject of turquoise hair (or some would say green). I recently decided to
change the look of my hair, and get rid of my boring golden/brown ombré ends.
So I guess I am going to talk to you about the results and give you a mini
review of what I used to dye my hair. Here is a picture of my hair below:
Firstly let me start off with my opinions of the colour.
When I first dyed it, it came out pretty dark. Almost a dark blue. But after
washing out the excess dye and then styling my hair, it showed it's true colour
and was really nice and...turquoise looking. After washing it the next day
because of the dye that was all over my skin it has become a lot more greener
than before. Still turquoise but more green than in-between or blue. I still
really like the colour of it and I don't hate it just yet.
The product that I actually used was called 'La Richie' and
it was the 'turquoise' one. In the tub itself it looks like a really dark blue
colour, that's probably why it looked that colour when I first Dyed it. It is
only a semi-permanent dye, so If you end up hating it if you use La Richie, it
will eventually wash out. So no need to worry yourself. Another thing the dye
itself comes alone, so you would need to buy a tinting brush or gloves
yourself. I bought clear gloves (the ones you usually get in boxed hair dyes)
to use as I personally prefer to use my fingers to dye my hair.
The actual process of
dying the ends using that dye was pretty simple. It took me about half an hour,
maybe forty five minutes. Here are some steps that I took to dye my hair. Oh by
the way, It does say on the tub that you should wash your hair first and dry it
but I just dyed mine dry without washing it before hand. And also I am not a professional of course, so
this is just how I did it. You can always go to the hair dressers!
·
I parted my hair in the middle at the back and
put my parts of hair to each side
·
I then put on my gloves (cause I don't want blue
hands you know)
·
Then I just started applying the dye with my
fingers - I didn't really have any tactic to this. Just grab and apply. I just rubbed
it in everywhere. Because I had the brown ombré already on my ends, it was
quite simple for me to apply and i didn't need to tie up my hair where I would
start dying from, but If you don't already have your ends a different colour I
suggest doing that step. It makes it a lot easier (I did that when I first dyed
my ends the brown colour).
·
I applied the colour on both sides of hair, I
spent about five minutes on each side - make sure you get everywhere. All the
little pieces of hair underneath.
·
After that I set a timer on my phone for 15 minutes
and left it in until my timer ran out
·
I washed out the excess hair dye with warm water
- I kept washing it through till it was remotely clear
·
Then after that, I towel dried and styled like
usual
So that was basically all I did to get my turquoise ends.
One thing I would say is that If you don't have light hair and it's quite dark,
you should probably lighten your ends first to get the true colour. My friend
used some of the dye on her hair, but her was like a dark red and it didn't
really come out that well so yeah, just a suggestion. Have fun dying your hair
and once again thank you for taking the time to read my blog. Feel free to
leave any questions. See ya
