Well hello guys. I know I said I will do more posts
frequently but in a space of hours, it's crazy right. Now I just wanted to
talk about something I always think about doing. It's not fashion related unfortunately but this is just a one off, I promise. So to make you all understand
more I'm going to explain...in detail. Now it's come to my knowledge that a lot of
people have been becoming somewhat 'famous' because of what they do on the
social networking side of the interweb. And I mean things like either posting videos
on Facebook or blogging or making videos for YouTube, a lot of young people are
getting fame over doing so. But enough of my rambling, main focus today is
about YouTube. Good old YouTube, so I hope you enjoy reading!
Oh do you like my little drawing I did above there? Yeah,
being a fabulous artist is one of my many talents. So moving on. YouTube,
YouTube, YouTube, what's there to say. Okay so growing up I (and my brothers) have
always been one of those kids who LOVED being centre of attention. My dad has
endless amounts of videos of us pretending to be in a band or performing a play
we wrote to him or just the usual videos of birthday parties and me when I
turned 7 shaking my stuff to S club, you know the usual. So I have always loved
being in front of the camera. But YouTube, It's like a whole other ball game.
It's fine talking to your friends about your views on stuff, but sitting in
front of a camera and sharing your opinions to potentially millions of viewers
is daunting. Not only that, there's the main factor that I for one would worry
about the most, and that is "what if my friends see it". Now this one
is something I have/would worry about the most, because let's face it, kids
today aren't the nicest. They are so quick to judge others on things they don't
even understand. I know many people who can talk for England and would be
AMAZING YouTube vloggers but the thought of all their friends/family seeing it
and being judged scares the hell out of them...
I for one would love to set up a YouTube account and post
videos every week just talking about life and things in general but I feel
another setback (not just for me) is that girls who tend to do YouTube don't
really get the recognition they deserve. I mean let's be honest, even when I
think of YouTube, then think of my favourite YouTube vloggers are, they
basically are all boys. Boys like the amazing (and well known) Jack and Finn from
JacksGap (http://www.youtube.com/user/JacksGap) or how about Alfie from
Pointlessblog (http://www.youtube.com/user/Pointlessblog) or even the amazingly amazing Sam
Pepper (http://www.youtube.com/user/sam) the list is endless. But my point is, if
you are a male and are relatively good looking, you are going to be the next
big thing in the YouTube community.
But don't get me wrong, I for one believe there are many,
many amazing female YouTubers out there. Not just vloggers but fashion wise
(that's what I am more interested in) as well. Some of my favourites are the
lovely Tasha from Tashxgreen (http://www.youtube.com/user/tashaxgreen),
ChloeRayneee (http://www.youtube.com/user/chloerayneee) and Rhiannon from
Fashionrocksmysocks (http://www.youtube.com/user/FashionRocksMySocks) and tons
and tons more. I think so many other girls (and undiscovered guys) are some amazing YouTubers
and deserve to be a lot more recognized.
YouTube is an amazing community and I have met some
phenomenal people from things like YouTube meet ups for example summer in the
city. Which is amazing and if you have the chance to go, I would take it. It's
such an amazing atmosphere and so much fun. I met amazing people and YouTubers
like Jamie from Jamiesface (http://www.youtube.com/user/JamiesFace), Dave Giles
(http://www.youtube.com/user/DaveJGiles), Dan from Danisnotonfire (http://www.youtube.com/user/danisnotonfire),
Zoella (http://www.youtube.com/user/zoella280390) and so many more people.
So with all that said, who knows, maybe one day I will join
the YouTube community properly (because I should add I do have a channel which
is: http://www.youtube.com/user/TamaraaTalks but it's only got footage from
meet ups) and be one of the many YouTube vloggers. However if you are reading
this and think you want to do it, you should! Don't let anyone make you not
want to do it or put you down. Good luck fellow blog reader soon to possibly
become a YouTuber. Bye bye for now.
